FIU CyberSkills2Work offers a short-term, intensive training program designed to recruit, prepare, and place participants into the cybersecurity work roles of cyber defense forensics analyst and threat/warning analyst. The program delivers three pathways in an asynchronous and synchronous online format and provides training, certification, assistance with job placement, mentoring, and a career path to transitioning military personnel, transitioning first responders, and veterans. This program is at no cost to selected participants.
Network Operations provides a comprehensive understanding of telecommunication networks, focusing on the Internet. It emphasizes the synthesis, analysis, and evaluation of computer communication networks, covering key topics such as network components, flow and congestion control, switching and routing, quality of service, and application-level protocols like RTP, peer-to-peer, and overlay networks. The course objectives include understanding network architecture and design, managing and optimizing network infrastructure, monitoring and troubleshooting network performance, and applying network security best practices. Learning activities consist of lectures, discussions, hands-on labs, and practical exercises. Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of computer networks.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent,
Must be part of one of these groups: veteran, transitioning service member, first responder, or military-affiliated individual.
